On Sept. 25th, I went to Atlanta Contemporary Art Center with my classmates and see the exhibition “Exquisite Exhibit: Parlour Games from the Studio Artist Program.” This exhibition is really interesting because its theme Exquisite Corpse” is letting three artists collaborated on a portrait or drawing without being aware of what came before or after their respective contributions. The final result, just like what I saw on the wall, is really amazing. Among those wall paintings, I especially love the wall at the entrance. The artists drove a lot of nails in the wall and hang the strings in different colors on them to create many hexagons. The overlapping hexagons compose beautiful patterns and lead our eyes up to the fabric and frame part. The fabric and frame wall is like a collage of junk. The artist glued those different fabric pieces and old frames on the wall. It is similar to the concept of Viz Muniz’s Wasteland. Connecting to this art exhibition and Wasteland with the current ting super power animal, I witnessed the process of changing junk to artwork. I feel that all we need to do for creating artwork is having a good idea and doing it, because materials are already around us and waiting us for using them.
